A vagabond wanders lonely across the streets, holding a drawing board in his hand, still chasing after the God of Art with a pair of eyes to discover beauty; he is, undeniably, a drifter in the age of materialism, a manifestation of the "poor artist" archetype. This might be a scenario that brings us heartache and dismay, but also is the reality many artists in modern society are facing. But, with the government assisting all kinds of artists, their art, and even their lives could be saved. So, in my opinion, this act is highly meaningful and worthwhile.

Of course, those who regard the selfless donation and support to artists as merely a waste of money have their reasons. They may think the primary goal of our age is to focus on economic development and to push the grand enterprise of scientific discovery forward, which, in their opinion, is essential for the progress of modern society. But looking back at the course of history, Renaissance seems to give us a different answer. Without the House of Medici kindly offering their money to some poor but capable artists, there would be no Leonardo Da Vinci, no magnificent Gothic cathedrals, and the current abundant cultural heritage of Italy would be greatly damaged. It was their patronage, acting as the catalyst for the prosperity of art and humanism, and offering tangible stimulation for the creative spirit to grow and bloom, that made Florence the center of the Renaissance, a city worth remembering for all ages. Besides, the booming art industry also brought great fortune and fame to Florence, making it a suitable place for travelling and even investment. So we can see that the life quality of artists is also closely related to the development of a city.

Apart from the consideration of the potential fame and money brought by artists to society, the donation itself is a great act of kindness and understanding. Considering the specific quality of creative works, which is to say, the relatively difficult situation artists tend to face at the very beginning of their career, this acceleration seems to be necessary and vastly beneficial. So often, what an art genius needs to be famous is merely an acre of inhabitable soil to grow. And, with this help of the government, being itself a manifestation of humanism and love, they might become grand masters of art, dedicating themselves to the education of the creation and appreciation of art and beauty in this nation and greatly influence many fields concerning creativity and self-expression, which is highly emphasized in the modern society as well.

In conclusion, I think the government assisting in all kinds of artists is a great act and should be advocated.
